In the 2011–2012 season, the Southlake Carroll girls swim and dive team achieved remarkable success, securing the UIL Class 5A State Championship. Their outstanding performance contributed significantly to Southlake Carroll High School earning the prestigious UIL Lone Star Cup for the first time in Conference 5A, recognizing the school’s excellence across various athletic and academic competitions.
At the state meet, the Lady Dragons amassed a total of 275.5 points, outpacing their closest competitors—San Antonio Reagan, which scored 208.5 points, and The Woodlands, with 195 points. This victory marked a significant milestone, as it was the first time the Southlake Carroll girls swim and dive team clinched the state title.
Individually, the team showcased exceptional talent in diving. Grace Kazmierski secured a second-place finish with a score of 536.90, while her teammate Lauren Crown placed sixth, scoring 451.10.
This state championship would be the 1st for the girls and set the stage for continued excellence, as the Southlake Carroll girls swim and dive team went on to secure additional state titles in subsequent years, including 2013, 2019, 2020, and 2022.
The 2012 team’s accomplishments not only brought pride to their school but also established a legacy of excellence that has inspired future generations of Southlake Carroll athletes.
