Brooke Upshaw is a celebrated alumna of Southlake Carroll High School, renowned for her exceptional achievements in cross country and track. Graduating in 2006, she played a pivotal role in establishing the Lady Dragons as a dominant force in Texas high school distance running.
In 2005, Upshaw clinched the individual title at the UIL 5A State Cross Country Championships with a time of 10:46.35, leading Southlake Carroll to a team championship. Upshaw’s 2005 state-winning time ranks among the top performances in UIL 5A history. She still holds the top times in Southlake Carroll school history in the 1600 meters (4:53.10) and 3200 meters (10:28.03).
Following her high school success, Upshaw competed at the collegiate level, running for both the University of Arkansas and Texas A&M University. Ultimately winning a SEC championship as a freshman.
