Justin Padron

Justin Padron is a former standout linebacker for the Southlake Carroll Dragons, graduating in 2007. As a key defensive leader, he played a pivotal role in the Dragons’ dominance during the mid-2000s, contributing to three consecutive Texas 5A state championships.​

In his senior year, Padron amassed 248 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and three forced fumbles. His exceptional performance earned him numerous accolades, including:​

  • AP First-Team All-State

  • Dallas Morning News First-Team All-Area

  • Fort Worth Star-Telegram Super Team

  • 5A Defensive MVP by TexasHSFootball.com

  • Jack Pardee Award for Outstanding Linebacker in 5A​

Recognized as one of the top inside linebackers in Texas, Padron was ranked 14th in the state by Rivals.com and 63rd nationally by ESPN.com. He was also named to the PrepNation.com 101 All-America Team.

Following high school, Padron committed to the University of North Texas, where he redshirted his freshman year in 2007. He later transferred to Southern Methodist University (SMU), joining the Mustangs’ football program in 2008.

Padron’s legacy at Southlake Carroll is marked by his leadership, tenacity, and significant contributions to one of the most successful eras in the school’s football history.
