At 6’7″ and 225 pounds, Nathan Chandler was a prototypical pro-style quarterback with a strong arm and field presence. A 1999 graduate of Southlake Carroll, he led the Dragons to a District 9-4A title, a trip to the 1998 state semifinals, and the school’s first-ever 7-on-7 state championship along with All-State Honors. He also represented Carroll in the 1999 Texas Oil Bowl and was a standout on the Dragons basketball team.
Chandler began his college career at Texas Tech before transferring to Pasadena City College, where he set school records and earned First Team All-American honors. He then transferred to the University of Iowa, starting at quarterback in 2003 and leading the Hawkeyes to a 10-3 season, a No. 8 AP national ranking, and their first bowl win in 44 years with a victory over Florida in the Outback Bowl.
Chandler went on to sign with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and was inducted into the Pasadena City College Hall of Fame in 2013.
