Patrick Benoist

Patrick Benoist is a standout product of Southlake Carroll’s championship tradition and one of the premier linebackers to emerge from the program. A three-year varsity player from 2003–2005, he helped lead the Dragons to an extraordinary 47–1 record, including back-to-back state championships in 2004 and 2005. As a co-captain in 2005, Benoist anchored a dominant defense with toughness, instincts, and leadership that defined one of the most successful eras in Carroll football history. His performance earned him recognition as the Jack Pardee Award Runner-Up, honoring him as one of the top linebackers in the state of Texas.

Following his graduation, Benoist continued his career at Vanderbilt University, where he became a three-year starting linebacker (2007–2009) and served as a team co-captain his senior year. Competing in the Southeastern Conference, he developed into one of the program’s most reliable defensive leaders, earning Second-Team All-SEC honors and leading the team in tackles. Over his collegiate career, he recorded 238 total tackles, showcasing consistency, intelligence, and physical play at the highest level of college football.

After graduating from Vanderbilt in 2010, Benoist began a career in commercial real estate in Dallas. His professional journey took him abroad to Hong Kong, then to Los Angeles, before ultimately returning home to Dallas. He married Julie Sanders in New Orleans in 2021, and together they are raising their two daughters, Bartlett and Sally, alongside their beloved Labrador, Huckleberry.

Deeply rooted in the Southlake community, Benoist’s family remains an integral part of the Dragon tradition. His parents, Glenn and Tanya, still reside in Southlake, along with his siblings, Jake and Caroline, and their families — continuing a legacy that reflects the pride, connection, and enduring impact of Southlake Carroll.
