Coach Robert Drake has been a cornerstone of Southlake Carroll athletics for over three decades, serving as a dedicated assistant coach for both football and track. Since joining the coaching staff in the early 1990s, his influence has helped shape the Dragons into a powerhouse at both the state and national levels.

Drake played a key role during the Dragons’ historic 1992 season, when the team went a perfect 16–0 and captured the UIL 3A Division State Championship under legendary head coach Bob Ledbetter. Since then, he has remained a steady and impactful presence on the sidelines, now serving under former Dragon quarterback and current head coach Riley Dodge.

Over his 32-year career, Coach Drake has been part of seven state championship football teams and has coached countless Track & Field champions. His coaching philosophy—centered on discipline, teamwork, and the pursuit of excellence—has helped develop not just winning athletes, but exceptional young men and women who succeed in all aspects of life.
