Ronnie Binion

Ronnie Binion served as a volunteer strength and conditioning coach for the Carroll Dragon football program from 1988 to 2000. Though never officially on staff or employed by Carroll ISD, Coach Binion dedicated countless hours to mentoring and developing young athletes—playing a vital role in building the foundation of The Tradition that continues to define Dragon football. He was part of the support staff during the Dragons’ 1988, 1992, and 1993 State Championship seasons.

Beyond the weight room, Coach Binion led Friday morning devotionals and Bible studies, focusing on the spiritual strength of the athletes just as much as their physical development. His commitment to shaping well-rounded young men left a lasting impact on the program and its players.

A man deeply rooted in faith, family, and service, Ronnie is married to his wife of 57 years, Peggy. Together, they have two daughters—Wendy Martin and Heather Beech—along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Outside of Carroll, Ronnie dedicated 35 years to serving the community as a Dallas firefighter before retiring in January 2005.

Ronnie Binion is a shining example of selfless dedication and quiet leadership. His influence—both in the weight room and in the lives of countless players—has left an enduring mark on the legacy of Carroll Dragon football.
