Ty Barrington

Ty Barrington established himself as one of Southlake Carroll’s most accomplished pole vaulters, competing for the Dragons from 2000 to 2004 and excelling in one of track and field’s most demanding and technical events. Combining speed, strength, and precision, Barrington consistently performed at an elite level against top competition across Texas.

During his career, Barrington achieved remarkable success, capturing three UIL State Championships in pole vault during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. His dominance at the state level solidified his place among the top vaulters in Texas high school history and highlighted his ability to perform under pressure on the biggest stage.

In addition to his state titles, Barrington was a standout in district and regional competition, consistently advancing and contributing to Southlake Carroll’s strong track and field tradition. Known for his technical consistency, competitive drive, and fearless approach, he became a cornerstone of the Dragons’ success during his era.

Following his decorated high school career, Barrington continued his athletic journey at the University of Oklahoma, where he competed as a pole vaulter at the collegiate level.
